That is literally the million dollar question…how do you become successful in Network Marketing? You were likely recruited into your MLM believing that success would come a lot easier than it has. You were told that it would all be so simple…that the key to MLM success was to just recruit a few people and they will recruit a few people, and the cycle will continue until you eventually had thousands of people in your downline and millions of dollars in your pocket.
Now, the concept of Network Marketing is, in fact, very simple. That part is true. But what you and I have come to learn is that having a simple system doesn’t make something easy.
So at this point, if you are reading this article, you probably found your way here because you’ve been in Network Marketing for several months, or maybe even several years, and you haven’t found the MLM success that you had hoped to achieve.
You want to succeed, but you just don’t see how it is going to happen. You’ve done everything they told you to do and it hasn’t worked. You feel lost, worn down, desperate, and maybe you even feel a little bit lied to.
If you’ve asked your sponsor or upline for advice, they’ve just told you to revisit your warm market. Or they’ve told you to meet new people at the grocery store or at the mall and try to recruit them. Or maybe they’ve even told you to go onto social media and post pictures of yourself using your product, and to give testimonials of your product, and to do this several times a day, every day.

Very few people are an instant MLM success story. If you’re like almost everyone else in this business, all of your friends and family have said no. If you have managed to recruit anybody, they aren’t doing anything.
You don’t want to quit and give up on your dreams, but you are starting to ask yourself – how long can I keep going like this? At what point does it NOT make sense to keep dumping money into a business that will never succeed? Am I being a bad parent by putting my time and money into a failing business rather than give my children the time and attention they should be getting and investing that money into their education?

The fact is that 97% of us will quit Network Marketing, give up on our dreams, and go back to a job we hate. You will get up just in time to see your children run off to school, spend an hour fighting traffic just so you can spend 8-12 hours at a job you hate, and then spend another hour fighting traffic to get home just in time to kiss your kids goodnight. And you will live that same day over and over again for the next 20-40 years and call it a life.
So today, you have a very important decision to make. How do you want your story to end? Will your story be an MLM success story, or will it be another MLM failure story? The decision is all up to you.
The Secret to Online MLM Success
I wrote everything above because I want you to realize how important this moment is for you right now. I want you to know that you are not alone in your experience and that if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you will keep getting what you’ve always been getting.
Something needs to change if you want to change the ending to your story.
So here it is – the key to MLM success…if you want to make 6 or even 7 figures in Network Marketing, you need to learn skills that are worth 6 and 7 figures and you then need to put those skills into action.
MLM Success – The Skills You Need To Build Your Business Online
MLM Success Skill #1 – Learn To Brand Yourself, NOT Your Product Or MLM Company
Pitching your company or product will never work. This is the difference between the guy holding the sign on the street corner vs the celebrity endorser. The guy holding the sign on the street corner is doing nothing but promoting the company. Everyone ignores them and they get paid as little as possible. They are a dime a dozen and to everyone passing them by, one guy is the same as the next. Not only that, but no one wants to be that guy or join him in whatever he is doing.
The celebrity, on the other hand, brands themselves. People like, know, and trust their opinion. People see them as an authority on beauty, fashion, relationships, health, sports, etc. If Oprah recommends a book, it becomes a best-seller overnight. If Warren Buffet buys a stock, so does every other investor. If Michael Jordan says to wear Nike shoes, every basketball player goes out and buys a pair.
People do what celebrities tell them to do because they like, know, and trust them. They want to do what they do and be like them. A celebrity might even be promoting the exact same thing as the guy holding the sign on the corner of the street. Who do you think gets paid more?
Very similarly, Network Marketing is, at its core, a relationship business. People don’t join companies, they join people. People will buy from and join people they like, know, and trust. So if you want to make the kind of money the guy holding the sign on the street corner is making, then keep pitching your company and products to everyone. But if you want to make the kind of money a celebrity makes, you NEED to brand yourself.
Think about it this way – you likely didn’t join your MLM company because you purposefully went out and searched for the best MLM with the best products and the best compensation plan. And once you found that Network Marketing company, you didn’t interview a bunch of sponsors to find the one who would best help you succeed.
Rather, you joined your MLM because someone you like, know, and trust asked you to join. If that same person had asked you to join a different MLM with the best products and compensation plan, you probably would have joined that one too.
So the first key to MLM success is to brand yourself…be the person that people like, know, and trust. Present yourself as an expert and an authority in whatever it is you’re marketing – not by pitching everyone on your opportunity, but by giving them value in terms of helpful tips, motivational quotes, and valuable advice on how to achieve their goals.
MLM Success Skill #2 – Build an Audience
Having great things to say will get you nowhere if you’re speaking to an empty room. Even if you are doing everything else right, if you’re recruiting on Twitter and you’ve only got 200 followers, you aren’t going to be making any money anytime soon.
You need to learn how to build an audience. But not just any audience. The key to MLM success is building a large, targeted audience.
Whether it’s through a blog, on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media platform, you need a large, targeted audience. Remember, Network Marketing is ALL A NUMBERS GAME. However large you want your paycheck to be, your audience has to be that much bigger.
MLM Success Skill #3 – Convert Your Audience Into Leads
Once you know what to do, growing a large audience really isn’t that hard. Taking that audience and getting them to give you their contact information is where things start to get a bit difficult.
You need to learn how to interact with your audience online in a way that they will give you their contact information and seek out your personal help. Depending on the social media platform you are recruiting on, your method will be different. The way you interact with your audience on Facebook will be very different from how you interact with them on Twitter. What works with one will not always be effective on the other.
MLM Success Skill #4 – ALWAYS Follow Up With Your Leads
Once you start bringing leads in, you NEED to follow up with them. Even with online recruiting, you can’t expect people to just sign up without ever talking to them on the phone. One universal truth in Network Marketing, whether you’re recruiting online or offline, is that the fortune is in the follow up.
You need to follow up with your prospects and know the right questions to ask and the right advice to give for their situation. You need to learn how to evaluate whether they will be a good fit for your opportunity (not everyone will be). If they are a good fit, you need to know what to say to get them to take a look at your opportunity.
