Network Marketing MindsetNetwork Marketing Mindset – How To Take Control Of Your Success

Getting into the right Network Marketing mindset isn’t always easy. Sometimes, it seems like so many things in your life are simply beyond your control. Every time you seem to make a little progress towards your goal, some unexpected event sets you back.

When Leah Rae and I first started to bring our business online, one of the first things we did was run Facebook ads. Many people have incredible success with Facebook ads, so we were excited to finally get going with them.

We had spent weeks putting together our sales funnel – finding the perfect lead magnet, creating a great capture page, setting up our autoresponder and email campaign, and developing a set of ads that would convert well.

Then came the day we turned everything on. Our ads were approved quickly, leads were starting to come in, and it seemed like the success we had been waiting for was finally going to come.

Then, the next day…

BAM! Facebook stopped running our ads and my ad account was shut down. All of the work we had put into this strategy just got flushed down the toilet.

For some reason, someone at Facebook didn’t like the ads that we were running and decided that the appropriate step to take should be to permanently and irreversibly shut down my ad account. No warning, no second chance. Just game over.

What was I advertising, you ask?

Ironically, it was a free Facebook Advertising Cheat-Sheet download that teaches people how to create Facebook ads. The email we got from Facebook explained that this constituted a “Get Rich Quick Scheme” which is against their policies.

Now, there’s not much we could have done to predict that this would happen. Our Facebook ad account getting shut down is obviously beyond our control.

Did we take it hard? Admittedly, yes. At first, we panicked. We had put nearly all our eggs into that basket and now it was gone.

Then I got angry, and worried, and I felt like a victim. And I was stuck in that rut for almost a week. My Network Marketing mindset was not good, to say the least.

Guess how much work I got done in that week? Guess how much progress I made towards the success of our business?

You guess it – absolutely none.

And the moment I realized how helpful feeling sorry for myself was, I got up and we started planning our next strategy.

Network Marketing Mindset – We Took Responsibility And We Took Control

I knew that I couldn’t do much about my ad account getting shut down. But what I CAN do something about is the success of my business, which in no way depends on what Facebook decides to do.

No matter what anyone else decides to do, no matter what unforeseen events happen, I always have full control over the success of my business. And that’s the Network Marketing mindset you need to have if you want to succeed.

Network Marketing Mindset – Two Choices

Any time you experience some setback like this in your business or in your life, you have two choices…either give up control of your situation and make excuses as to why you can’t achieve your goal and give up…

…OR you can accept responsibility for your actions, realize that you have full control of the situation, and overcome that setback.

Network Marketing Mindset – Responsibility = Control

The more responsibility you take, the more control you have over your life.

As soon as things start to go wrong, unsuccessful people will make excuses, deny responsibility, and let themselves off the hook. But doing this also gives up their control of the situation.

Think of it this way – If you blame someone or something else for your situation, then your situation is beyond your control. You give up control over your situation.

If you take responsibility for your situation, then the state of your situation is up to you. You have full control over your situation.

And the more control over your life you have, the more freedom you have. And when you are free, there are no limits to what you can achieve.

Network Marketing Mindset – A Few Things To Keep In Mind

When it rains, it rains on everyone. What many people don’t realize (or refuse to acknowledge) is that we all have to deal with the same circumstances in life. Furthermore, no matter how difficult your situation is, I can guarantee that there is someone out there who started with less who was able to accomplish more.

If I were to sit here and complain that I can’t be successful in Network Marketing because Facebook shut down my ad account, it would be like a football game where the losing team blamed their loss on the weather – they don’t stop to think that the winning team also had to play in the same weather.

What was pointed out to me by a good friend in the industry, was that almost every top leader he knows has had their Facebook ad account shut down. So apparently, I’m in good company.

When you encounter setbacks and difficult situations in your business, you are experiencing what every other Network Marketer has had to go through. The difference between the top earners and the quitters is their Network Marketing mindset.

So the decision you have to make is whether you’re going to take responsibility and control of your situation, or whether you’re going to make excuses and give up control.

The decision is completely up to you.

Learn From My Mistakes

One of the cool things about making mistakes is that you learn from them. And the cool thing about learning from your mistakes is that you can then teach others how to avoid them!

Hey Todd, Facebook shut my ability to promote anything as well, with no warning at all! One day I just noticed that the “promote” button was grayed out and didn’t work. Along with that, I’ve been suspended several times. Facebook is not my friend. Thanks for the post!
