Network Marketing Recruiting – Should You Present To Your Family And Friends?

There’s a lot of debate going back and forth about Network Marketing recruiting and whether you should present to your family and friends or not.

There are very successful people on both sides of this debate.

Some feel that they don’t want to risk damaging relationships by presenting an opportunity or by going into business with family and friends.

On the other side of the coin, there are others who say that if you truly believe you have a great product and a potentially life-changing opportunity, that you have a duty to share that with those you care about the most.

Our Experience With Network Marketing Recruiting

We’ve honestly gone back and forth and been on both sides of this Network Marketing recruiting debate. And from our experience, having tried to build a Network Marketing business both ways, we’ve come to a very solid conclusion…

…that we’ve experienced the MOST success (by FAR) by presenting to our family and friends and also by teaching our downline to do the same.

Here are 5 Network Marketing recruiting tips on why we recommend you do the same…

Network Marketing Recruiting Tips #1 – You Can Get A Quick Win

Best Network Marketing Recruiting Tips - Best MLM Recruiting TipsPresenting to your family and friends when Network Marketing recruiting is the best way to get some sales ASAP and recoup your initial investment. It’s your low-hanging fruit.

The thing to keep in mind is that you don’t have to present the business opportunity to them if you’re afraid of damaging relationships.

In fact, with our family and friends, we always lead with the product. We know that our family and friends don’t really have the right entrepreneurial mindset to really be successful with a home business.

We also know that, despite the success that we’ve had in this industry, our family and friends are happy doing what they’re doing and have no desire to do what we do. And if that changes, they’ll reach out to us and let us know. We don’t have to chase them down and beg them to join.

But any time we join an opportunity, it’s going to be because it has an amazing product or service that our family and friends would benefit from. So why not at least show them what you’ve got?

If you were to open up any other type of business (let’s say a restaurant), wouldn’t you at least invite your family and friends over to check it out and try the food?

Even if you had opened a restaurant in the past that failed…if you opened a NEW one, would you still invite your family and friends to check it out?

Yes…you would and you should.

And the same thing goes for your Network Marketing business. You don’t have to ask your family and friends to join you in the business, but you should at least invite them to try out your products when you start Network Marketing recruiting.

MLM Recruiting Tips #2 – It’s The Most Duplicatable Way To Build

The most difficult part about Network Marketing recruiting is finding people to present to.

The great thing about your family and friends is that you already have their contact information, AND they already know, like, and trust you…so (with the right approach), it’s very easy to get them to sit down for a few minutes and check out what you’re doing.

Presenting to your family and friends is, by far, the most duplicatable way to get started with Network Marketing recruiting and get some sales and sign-ups in your business.

If you want your downline to grow, then you NEED to create a culture in your organization that heavily encourages presenting to family and friends.

MLM Recruiting Tips #3 – Your Downline Will Do What You Did

What YOU do in your business duplicates.Network Marketing Recruiting Secrets - MLM Recruiting Secrets

If you buy in at the lowest possible investment, so will those that you recruit!

And, if you don’t present to your family and friends, then neither will those that you recruit.

Remember, family and friends is the most duplicatable way to get sales and sign-ups…so if your downline isn’t doing it when Network Marketing recruiting, then don’t expect it to grow very fast (if at all).

MLM Recruiting Tips #4 – It Boosts Retention Exponentially

You’ve got roughly 72 hours to get your new team members a quick win. If they can get a sale or sign-up in that amount of time, chances are very high that they will stick around.

If, on the other hand, they don’t get any sales or sign-ups in the first 72 hours, chances are that they will disengage and eventually quit the business all together.

The BEST way for them to get that quick win is by presenting to their family and friends when Network Marketing recruiting.

MLM Recruiting Tips #5 – You Just Might Change Someone’s Life

Story time!

Back in 2014, a young woman joined her first Network Marketing opportunity and was told that she had to present to 100 of her family and friends. She was nervous and scared, but she took action and did it anyways.

Like many people who start Network Marketing recruiting, she heard no after no after no…

It was discouraging to say the least, but she kept going.

She eventually came around to a young couple that she had known only for a few years. They lived in a different state and they hadn’t talked in a while, but she decided to reach out to them anyways.

She did a LOT of things wrong in her Network Marketing recruiting…she sent a spammy email, she talked about the products and opportunity before they saw the full presentation, she presented to only the wife instead of both of them…

They really weren’t interested in buying anything, but in the end, the wife ended up buying some products just to be a good friend and to support her business.

A week later, the products came and the young couple tried them out and loved them.

The wife decided she wanted to get involved with the business and promote the products. The husband was still highly skeptical, but the wife joined anyways.

Long story short, the husband eventually came around and decided to join the wife in the business. They struggled for the first year, made absolutely no money, but stuck with it.

A few years after that, the couple had built a high multiple-six-figure business and retired from their jobs while still in their 30’s…all because a friend overcame her fears, took action despite not knowing what to do, and shared her business opportunity to them despite their skepticism.

And if you haven’t figured it out yet, that woman was our friend, and that couple was us.

Our lives are completely changed because a good friend of ours shared an amazing opportunity with us, even though we were skeptical.

And because she had the courage to approach us with her opportunity, our lives and the lives of our kiddos have changed forever.

Excellent points! I hate having to talk to my family about my business, but I guess I see the point now. You lay it out so clearly and logically. Thanks!

I definitely believe you should approach family and friends, but I do offer a different approach.

Instead of pitching them on the business, share your products or services. Most of your family and friends are not entrepreneurial anyway, but ALL of them are consumers.

By doing that, you can build up a nice little customer base right out the gate. In due time, assuming you stick it out with the business, many of the people will also become business partners.

The primary reason you SHOULD talk with family and friends is because that is what you are going to have your team do. If every new person goes straight to their cold market, you will have an even higher failure rate in your team.

    Just my two cents.
